Salt Lake City (Dec. 13, 2017) – Capt. Doug McCleve, of the Utah Department of Public Safety has been named the new law enforcement director for the Utah Department of Natural Resources (DNR). He will assume his new position Jan. 2, following the retirement of current Law Enforcement Director, Sidney Groll.
DNR Names New Deputy Director
Salt Lake City (Dec. 12, 2017) – Mike Styler, executive director of the Utah Department of Natural Resources (DNR), has named Weber County Commissioner, Kerry Gibson, as DNR’s new deputy director. Gibson will assume his position, Jan. 13, 2018, following the retirement of current Deputy Director, Robyn Pearson.
Very Little Energy Potential within Bears Ears National Monument
Salt Lake City (Dec. 4, 2017) – According to studies completed by the Utah Geological Survey, the Bears Ears National Monument (BENM) as originally designated does not hold significant energy development potential. The vast majority of energy potential resides outside the monument boundary.
